Info:

Originally from Los Angeles, California I currently attend Central Saint Martins BA course Fashion Design: Communication. My point of view is informed through my time as a painter and fine artist before CSM and I approach each collection or look as if I'm composing the characters and story of a painting. My experience within graphic design work heavily motivates the way my process is communicated and I have a massive interest in Graphic design and bookbinding; intentionality of the entire process is always a motivation in my work. I am obsessive over detail and function and the idea of a job done correctly.

Creative statement:

I find much inspiration in the imagination of myself as a boy, day dreaming during sunny days and letting my mind wander while being read children’s books. This naive yet curious approach is one I’ve been chasing and will most likely forever chase in my work. To me it is the purest form of observation and imagination.

I resonate deeply with photographer Sam Abell who calls himself the quiet photographer as he details the balance and patience required to not impose one's ego into their work. Contextually, the black experience itself embodies magical realism and through my work I position the viewer’s observation through my eyes and therefore within a magically real setting.

I am attempting to display objective observation, from the point of view of my younger self. Through this objective viewpoint I’ve been working towards challenging the idea of positionality and looking without bias. My work is honest, everyday, and almost voyeuristic in its observations of people and the world they inhabit explored through garments and set design. My work is no more important than anybody else's however, that's the quality that makes it important. Human experience itself is non-monolithic and therefore the myriad of experiences is important in itself. I work in an attempt to objectively observe from the magically real world that is my reality.
